I use it one handed all the time, battery life is the best. If you need to reach the top of the screen with one hand you can always swipe down from the bottom of the screen and it pulls the entire interface down so you can access the Notification Center, etc with one hand. I hold it and scroll with one hand.
iPhone 14 Pro Max review -- tomsguide. Just ordered the 14 Pro with 256 GB - I’ve had the 6S with 64 GB for the past 7 years. Storage limitations, audio issues, and poor battery life (once replaced the battery a few years ago) on the 6S are the primary reasons I’m finally parting with it. I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying the
Get 13 pro. Much better camera system, newer cpu, very good battery life. Solid built in quality. 12 pro is not worth above $500. For the same price, 13 Pro is the easy choice here, even if it’s only for the battery life. All the extra stuff - screen, camera upgrades, are the icing on top.
I had a 12 pro max and went to a 13 and much prefer it. Battery is awesome, phone is lighter. They have the same screen and camera sensor technology so the standard 13 borrowed a lot of the features from the pro last year. It will be better in every way compared to an XS Max and has better battery life than almost any phone on the market. The 13 PM is obviously better, but it is bulkier. The 13 PM is 1st on this list, the 13 Pro is 6th (3rd for phones with high refresh displays) the XS Max is 36th, not far ahead of the 12 Mini.
I had the 13 Pro and loved it but upgraded to the 14 Pro Max for better battery life after iOS 16 ruined it. I don’t know that I will go down to regular Pro size anytime soon because the 14 Pro Max battery life still isn’t long enough for me, and I do enjoy the bigger screen. I will be upgrading to the 15 Pro Max though.
The battery life on my 14 pro max is definitely better than my old 13 pro max. The 13 would still easily last me all day under moderate to heavy usage, but my 14 so far will be at 60-65% at the end of my 10 hour work day whereas my 13 would range from 40-45% give or take. This is without altering any settings in my 14, and I use the always on

I got the 13PM because of the larger screen and battery. However, if it was between the 13P vs 13, i'd definitely go pro because 120hz is a game changer (can't believe it took this long for apple to add it on iphone). I think 60hz iphones will age a lot quicker compared to 120hz models imo.

Starting with the 13 Pro I decided the Max sized iPhones were becoming cumbersome and difficult to use throughout the day. It’s mainly because I’m a heavy user and my hands and wrist just had enough. But the downside of downsizing to the Pro version, is that you lose that awesome battery life and capacity.
